Norton Internet Security 2012

Virenscanner

In comparison to other Anti-Virus software, Norton Internet Security Suite offers Anti-Phishing Filters, an intelligent 2-Way Firewall and recognizes Keyloggers automatically while eliminating those threats as well.

You will appreciate that Norton Internet Security Suite also scans all known banking and shopping web sites for legitimacy. Your home network will also be watched to give you maximum security.

Norton Internet Security does not seem to have great weaknesses, likely to be found in the lead or middle position in comparison testing. Norton's firewall could use some improvements, though. All-in-all, you get a well-rounded security product which can stand up to the dangers of the internet.

In comparison with other Internet Security software Norton stands out positive with respect to their clean user interface. This makes Norton Internet Security by Symantec a good buy for Novices.

Advantages:

  • Easy, Clean Interface
  • Uses Low System Resources
  • High Virus Scanning Speed
  • High Virus and Misc Treat Recognition
  • Few False-Positives
  • 5-15 min. Reaction Time To New Viruses

Disadvantages:

  • unknown

Summary:

Thanks to constant advancements Norton Antivirus, again, can be seen as a serious contender. The Norton Internet Security 2009 Suite well protects you from the dangers lurking online.

I was not thrilled with the previous version of Norton Security Suite. It was relatively slow and that bothered me. However, since I purchased the new version my pc runs markedly faster. They have done some work.

I have been using Norton Anti-Virus for years and am quite satisfied with it. I upgraded to Norton Internet Security Suite by Symantec a few days ago because I also wanted a firewall. So far, everything is running perfect. I hope it stays like that.

Am using Norton since 2007 and never had a problem. On the contrary, my system starts fast. I never had Viruses or other threats on my system. I am looking forward to Norton 2010. The previous versions convinced me that nothing is better than Norton.

I previously installed a free Anti-Virus and thought that was enough. I now have Norton Internet Security installed which promptly found some Trojans which my free Anti-Virus missed.

Anti virus, auto updates works good, but the automatic logins failed. That in itself is not a reason to reject this product, the real issue is that customer service is a fraud, it does not exist. They do not respond to emails and attempts to chat have also failed - after a wait of about thirty minutes, when an "analyst" was supposedly with me, nothing that he typed was visible. This has happened twice. I therefore would strongly urge anyone considering this or any other Norton product to check out the availability of service before you buy, or save your self the effort and buy something else.

Ha, get a simple answer to question if you can,,,
Ask how to keep Norton from allowing automatic updates from Microsoft windows automatic update and download, when everytime you click "Norton's attention fix now"??? When you click fix now it changes your setting on internet explorer Microsoft windows update from "allow me to decide which updates to download and install". It will not allow you the freedom to choose which downloads Microsoft updates automatically or to download, or reject,,, Ha.
And they will not give you any way to ask them how to fix...Double HA.

I have used 3 different types of Anti-virus and Internet Security programs.

Traditionally, I was on Norton, and due to some commercial prompting and cheaper brands, I decided to try them out. I have got lots of disappointments: Some cannot detect spyware, and some hide the SPAM emails in a hidden folder, making the impression that all is well with the incoming mails. Then on switching from one which sounds like NORTON, but did not detect potentially harmful viruses, my email got infected with TROJAN.

So, after 1 month of ding dongs, I decided to go back to the one that I have been using traditonally and trusted for the last decades, I bought 3 sets of Norton 360, and got one Internet Security for free. And I am amazed by the Norton Software, with PC tune up, Backup files, Firewalls and lots of other features which none of the other brands can give.

Now, its time for me to update my Norton Security, but it has become more expensive, and includes 2GB storage on the Internet, which I do not want, because I can get a thumb drive of at least 8GB to do this. I looked up the updates at 2 websites recommended by PCMag and the prices are $33.99 Internet Security for 3 users and about the same price for the Antivirus. GREAT. Go for it my heart says.
