BitDefender Antivirus offers good protection from Viruses, Worms and Trojans with recognition rates of 97.6%. The rate for Adware and Spyware is a meager 88%. Percentage rates rise again for Malware recognition.

As far as performance is concerned, BitDefender Antivirus is somewhere in the middle compared to its competitors. High system resource usage is a negative point since this noticeably affects the performance of computers with low RAM (random access memory).

Since this Anti-Virus has an interface that is not very user friendly it is not recommended for novices. One has to spend a bit of time with this software to understand its functions.
