McAfee VirusScan Plus
McAfee VirusScan Plus offers complete Anti-Virus and Anti Spyware function. The American portal alone registered more that 4.9 million downloads (as of December 2008). This ahs one good reason: McAfee VirusScan Plus gives reliable protection against all sorts of threats. This Anti-Virus software also offers which are usually only offered in complete Internet Security Suites. This includes a 2-way firewall and anonymous internet surfing.
Unfortunately though, this software has its weaknesses in behavioral based recognition. This is where other Anti-Virus software beats McAfee. Web Exploits recognition could be improved as well.

Disadvantages
- Slow reaction time
- Weak behavioral based recognition
Summary:
This anti-Virus software has its weakness in behavioral based recognition of viruses and Spyware. Otherwise, recognition rates are acceptable. McAfee VirusScan Plus 2009 is a solid Anti-Virus, but nothing more.
